Summer Living History

Summer Living History

About

Step back in time this summer! For a fun-filled family day out, head to the New Forest where living history characters will bring Beaulieu to life with the sights and sounds of the past…

Delve into over 800 years of history with special activities and tours taking place every day throughout the summer holidays, 21 July - 31 August.

SEE HISTORIC MOTORS IN ACTION

See veteran and vintage vehicles as they drive around the grounds with their occupants dressed in period costumes. Take a closer look under the bonnet and talk to the drivers.

WATCH FALCONRY DISPLAYS

Meet Lord Montagu's falconer and watch amazing falconry displays. Visit the new Abbot's Mews exhibition in Beaulieu Abbey to learn about the history, care and training of these magnificent birds.

COLLECT CHARACTER CARDS

There are so many interesting historical characters to meet on site! Can you collect all their character cards?

VISIT THE VICTORIAN KITCHEN

Visit Lord Montagu's cook or the kitchen maid in the Victorian Kitchen at Palace House.

PLAY TRADITIONAL GAMES

Have good old-fashioned fun with Victorian games and puzzles on the lawns of Palace House.

ENJOY VICTORIAN MUSIC
