If you are looking for an active day, Poole and the surrounding area offer many attractions and activities for you and your group to enjoy. From segways, tree top assault courses, zipline, highropes, fishing, walking and cycling.
Bournemouth and Poole’s ten miles of coastline offers a fantastic range of watersports to try with your group. From surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing, jet-skiing and powerboating to name just a few. Visit our watersports page for ideas and inspiration.
Poole and the surrounding area offer a vast choice of walking opportunities for your group. Our beautiful coastline, gardens, parks and open spaces offer the best that nature has to offer and more. At any time of the year Poole and its neighbouring countryside provide some wonderful routes for walkers. There are numerous walks in the area, guided and specialist.
Follow the brass plaques in the pavement to take this self guided trail, highlighting tales of Poole’s past from the smugglers and sailors to the ghosts who have inhabited the town over the years. The walk takes in the scenic Old Town and last approximately one hour. Leaflets cost 50p from the Tourist Information Centre on Poole Quay.
Poole has over 50 miles of cycle network and 28 miles of path are away from traffic, including leisure routes in pleasant green areas and cycle paths by the sea.
The coastline offers perfect cycling opportunities and plenty of places to stop off at one of our coastal cafes, bars and restaurants. Our coastal roads offer stunning sea views, head westwards to Sandbanks and Poole or Eastwards towards Hengistbury Head and Christchurch.
The various routes cater for all abilities of cyclist. It is possible to cycle between Poole Town Centre and Upton Country Park, Wimborne and Bournemouth Town Centre using National Cycle Network Route 25. Route 2 will take you along the seafront promenade to Bournemouth - please note cycle restrictions apply at certain times of the year.
