Our coastline offers some beautiful relaxing experiences and some fantastic invigorating ones too…to keep you smiling and joyful! From beautiful walks along the coastline while watching the waves breaking gently on the shoreline to having a mindful paddleboard experience or trying your hand at kitesurfing there is plenty of activities to choose from.
Poole offers an abundance of places to explore and discover, from coastal walking hikes along our clifftops or shoreline, to tranquil walks and trails enjoying the peace and quiet in hidden wooden glades. Take a mindful walk in one of our many parks and gardens. Poole Park is an oasis of calm and tranquillity and a lovely walk from the quayside. Discover stunning views of the harbour and Brownsea Island as you follow the footpath through Harbourside Park.
Poole also has a picture perfect historic old town and stunning scenery waiting to be explored on foot, you could even join a guided walk or follow the Cockle Trail self-guided walk. Leaflet available at Poole Tourist Information Centre.

Nature is a great for your wellbeing. Activities are plentiful from spotting a red squirrel on Brownsea Island to discovering our local bird hides where you can spend hours watching local and migrating birds arriving to our shores, parks and gardens. Poole is a perfect weekend or mid-week break holiday destination. A number of hotels along our coastline offer some beautiful spa break packages. This is the perfect opportunity to combine some pampering with exploring the surrounding area. Enjoy a dip in the pool, book a holistic spa treatment or try a new colour for your manicure, there’s plenty of choice. Along the coastline there are also some fantastic local beauty and hair salons offering that perfect pampering experience you are craving.
Our coastline is awash with so many choices where you can sit with a relaxing drink, healthy snack and a good book. The resort attracts independent restaurateurs, familiar high street names as well as award-winning restaurants and chefs. Our eateries can offer wholesome homemade meals, or the freshest catch-of-the-day with some overlooking the blissful waters of the quayside. Talking of fish did you know? …Poole has its own local fishing fleet and the area produces some fabulous local Dorset produce.
Fancy treating yourself to a cream tea? There are many charming eateries along the quayside and in our hotels that offer afternoon tea so you can savour a scone in some unique surroundings. Some even look out to sea for the ultimate seaside twist on a British tradition.

Looking for a mindful and wellbeing break and want to offer your support and help in the great outdoors… many of our local nature reserves and attractions are waiting for you. There are a number of opportunities along the coastline including the local National Trust properties, The RSPB, Dorset Wildlife Trust, Birds of Poole Harbour and many more. From hedge laying, nest box making or joining in with one of their activity days.
