Poole parkrun

Runners in Poole park running in Poole parkrun

About

A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it's up to you!

Course Description

At Poole we are a busy parkrun with 800+ runners each week. We have taken the decision to move the start and finish area and change the course to try and maximise space. Some parts of the course will still become congested and you may have to run single file/two abreast. To reduce congestion and overtaking, please line up at the start commensurate to the position you think you will finish.
We will start and finish at West Field, (opposite the crazy golf) at the town centre end of the park.
The route will head towards the cycle path around the cricket pitch, taking a sharp right turn (please take care as this is very sharp) to run around the path anti clockwise, then head back towards the start and complete one lap of the lake.
You will then return to do another lap of the cycle track and run back towards the finish on West Field.
We anticipate that the course will be congested, especially in the first mile. We would ask participants to keep right when heading towards the cycle track.
The front of the field will return down this road on their right, led by the lead bike.
Finishers doing the last section of the course should be on the far right in order to peel off into the finish.
Throughout the event we ask that you overtake on the right to avoid confusion and any unfortunate dips in the lake.
