About

In connection with our African collection this month's Museum Late will travel to different countries and cultures.

Join us on Thursday, 15 February for our Voices of Africa, evening at the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum. It will be a an evening celebration, bringing together a host of different African cultures at the museum and highlighting this fantastic continent, one of the most vibrant and inspiring in the world. A fantastic opportunity to share and celebrate the cultural diversity of Africa.

An unforgettable evening experiencing the vibrancy and diversity of the different nations of Africa. The event will reveal some of the extraordinary cultural, artistic and historical diversity and complexity of this incredible continent. From Nigeria to Zambia, from South Africa to Sudan, there will be something for all to enjoy about this fantastic continent. We aim to ignite conversations and inspire learning and enjoyment throughout the evening.

Enjoy an evening listening to a Zambian folktale, learning about Nigerian and Namibian traditions, discovering the 11 official languages of South Africa, hands-on object handling of the museum's collection from different African countries and much more. In addition, there will be fun-filled craft activities for all ages.We are excited to announce our lead performer, multi-talented and Afro Jazz Trumpeter and recording artist Kwitee, often referred to the King of Afro Jazz!

All activities will be taking place continuously from 5pm – 8pm unless stated otherwise.
