Heroes and Superheroes

Heroes and Superheroes is written in bold in front of the black silhouettes of famous superheroes.

About

A fun concert for the whole family, Heroes and Superheroes will be a symphonic celebration taking place at the Lighthouse on Saturday 15 March, conducted by Pete Harrison. This concert is excellent for first time audiences and should give you a taste of the cinematic scope of a full symphony orchestra.

Heroes both historical and fictitious as well as the superheroes of the Marvel and DC comics remain inspiration for Hollywood and some of the best big screen adventures ever. Scores include the adventure classics of Robin Hood and The Magnificent Seven by Eric Korngold and Elmer Bernstein as well as those by John Williams and James Horner from films depicting real-life heroics of wartime epics and space exploration in Saving Private Ryan and Apollo 13. And of course, the famous superhuman sounds of Superman, Batman and the X-Men.

Works and composers:
Korngold - Robin Hood March
Bernstein - The Magnificent Seven
Barry - Dances With Wolves - John Dunbar Theme
J Williams - Hook - Flight To Neverland
Jarre - Lawrence Of Arabia
Zimmer - Pirates of the Caribbean; Dead Man's Chest - Jack Sparrow
Zimmer - The Dark Knight
