The “Best Big Band in the Land,” the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, is back for 2019 with their explosive new concert show, which is bigger and better than ever and can be seen live on stage at the Regent in Christchurch on Thursday 7 February 7.30pm.
Hold on tight as Big Band Spectacular takes everyone on an exciting journey from the swing of the Big Band era right through to modern standards that are all performed by the Syd Lawrence Orchestra in stunning, dynamic and thrilling fashion.
Directed by Chris Dean, this mesmerizing performance is packed with all of those Big Band Favourites, featuring music from the songbooks of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey, Neal Hefti, Billy May, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and many, many more.
Chris Dean adds spice to the evening with his fabulous vocal renditions of Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett songs and the Band will be joined by Sarah Eyden performing the big band songs made famous by Ella Fitzgerald.
This is definitely a musical extravaganza not to be missed.
