Poole Shortlisted in British Coach Tourism Awards 2017
Poole shortlisted in the prestigious British Coach Tourism Awards 2017 in the ‘Coach Friendly Destination’ category.
Previously known as the National Coach Tourism Awards, these awards recognise excellence and developments across coach tour operators, destinations, visitor attractions and tourism suppliers. This year saw a record-breaking number of entries.
Graham Richardson, Tourism Manager, said; “This is fantastic news for Poole. The coach travel market is important to us and we have dedicated our resources accordingly. Our marketing team and the Poole Attractions Group have been instrumental in developing promotions to show what an ideal destination Poole is for coach operators and group travel. Recent promotional initiatives include a Group Travel Itinerary Planner and a Coach & Group Travel Digital Postcard. ”
Other finalists in the category include Bournemouth, Plymouth, Southport, Beverley and Wells. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on 22 March 2017 at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham.
Carol Scott, Chair of Poole Attractions Group, said “This is great recognition, as Poole Attractions Group and Poole Tourism have been working together to enhance the offering in Poole for Coach Operators to make sure they have a great experience, we have listened to feedback from the operators and worked with attractions to make booking combinations easier. We have also hosted familiarisation visits and attended exhibitions to showcase Poole”.
The Awards are timed to coincide with the British Tourism & Travel Show at the NEC Birmingham, 22-23 March, (Poole Attractions Group are exhibiting, stand B56), with winners being announced at the gala dinner.
