Taste of the South is a brand new local food, drink and produce festival coming to Dorset this May and has been created in association with the week-long Poole Maritime Festival 15th-21st May.
Poole shortlisted in the prestigious British Coach Tourism Awards 2017 in the ‘Coach Friendly Destination’ category. Previously known as the National Coach Tourism Awards, these awards recognise excellence and developments across coach tour operators, destinations, visitor attractions and tourism suppliers. This year saw a record-breaking number of entries.Graham Richardson, Tourism Manager, said; “This is fantastic news for Poole. The coach travel market is important to us and we have dedicated our resources accordingly. Our marketing team and the Poole Attractions Group have been instrumental in developing promotions to show what an ideal destination Poole is for coach operators and group travel. Recent promotional initiatives include a Group Travel Itinerary Planner and a Coach & Group Travel Digital Postcard. ”Other finalists in the category include Bournemouth, Plymouth, Southport, Beverley and Wells. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on 22 March 2017 at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham.

For the second year running Poole Quay Boat Haven has picked up one of the marine industry’s most prestigious awards. It beat off competition from 40 marinas around the UK to be named as UK Coastal Marina of the Year 2017 (under 250 berths) by The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA).

Jazz by the Sea Festival receives Arts Council funding to bring world class jazz music to Poole and Bournemouth this summer 11 Jan 2017
Jazz by the Sea Festival will take place from Sunday 11th to Saturday 17th June at a dozen or more locations across Poole and Bournemouth. There will be live jazz performances in shopping arcades and retail outlets as well as a variety of themed jazz events in local hotels, pubs, clubs, bars and restaurants.
We are about to undergo a massive transformation which will take the centre to an all new level. The plans include a brand new party centre, several new features to be installed, a new and improved under 5’s area and improved access facilities.
